Blanche is a station on the Paris metro line 2.  It is located near Pigalle and in front the Moulin Rouge.

The Metro station takes its name from Place Blanche, which in turn was named after a load of chalk spilled from a truck leaving Montmartre in the 17th century. Only one of the Art Nouveau entrances designed by Hector Guimard (1867-1942), the architect commissioned by the Compagnie du Métropolitain de Paris (CMP) in 1899 to design the station entrances, remains.

Browsing through the endless menu of my Fuji X100 F, I found the possibility of making double exposures. When I found myself in Paris, I didn’t want to be part of the swarm of tourists photographing Paris, all the same things… the double exposure saved me, allowing me to interpret what the city offered to my eyes, to my mind, in an original way, and to express the overcrowding, the crush, even of photographs to which the places and monuments of Paris are subjected. These images offer new insights, new forms, that do not double the visual experience but contrast it, quoting writer Di Luca: “two is not twice as much as one, they are not bigger, heavier, more beautiful, but the opposite’.”
