Righeira were an Italian musical group formed by Johnson Righeira and Michael Righeira who achieved their greatest recording success in the 1980s with the hits Vamos a la playa (1983), No Tengo Dinero (1983) and L’estate sta finendo (1985). The two met at the ‘Albert Einstein’ scientific high school and were born artistically in the late 1970s. From their debut, they became known as Michael and Johnson Righeira , having decided to pretend to be brothers in the artistic field. In 1980, Johnson recorded his first single, Bianca Surf/Photoni (Meccano Records/Italian Records, reissued in 1981 by Vip/CGD).

In 2023, Johnson Righeira, after the canonical midnight hour, performed at the May Day ‘concertone’ in Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano in Rome, performing with his band, first L’estate sta finendo and then Vamos a la playa celebrating its 40th anniversary.

VIDICON was one of the most important experiences of Milano underground life in the early 1980s.
An open, self-managed space inside an squatted house in Via Correggio 18 in Milan.
A collective of young artists, in which music, video art, performance, photography, installations and events coexisted intensely during the eight months of its existence.
