“It is not important that the photographer can see, because the camera sees for him,” is how Franco Vaccari begins his essay “Photography and the Technological Unconscious”.
I have always been fascinated by this aspect of photography.
Even the most experienced and scrupulous photographer is amazed and surprised by the end result of his work!
And it cannot be said that photography does not reproduce reality, this has long been controversial, I am convinced that photography reproduces reality.
The question is: which reality? The one mediated by the technological medium: a new parallel reality! The task of the photographer is to work with the photographic medium to expand the horizons of our sight, of our mind.
The proposed work uses the medium of photography to overcome the concept of temple and space, surprising the observer in a simple and rigorous way, with explicit references to Lucio Fontana’s ‘spatialism’.
